Arise, Jews of Bachelor Nation! A new season of “The Bachelorette” starts this Monday, and the show will have at least one vocally Jewish contestant trying to win the heart of Bachelorette Jen Tran. Meet 29-year-old real estate investor Jeremy Simon, seen here sniffing a rose.
Per his bio for “The Bachelorette,” Jeremy is spontaneous, loyal and generous. He’s definitely a lover not a fighter — Jeremy cites physical touch as his love language, says “he loves hard” and enjoys coming up with creative date ideas. One such creative date idea? Jeremy says his ideal meet-the-family date would be bringing someone home for Passover seder. Frankly, that’s an idea so crazy that you have to respect it.
Here’s everything else we know about him: Though “The Bachelorette” lists Jeremy’s hometown as New York City, it seems that he comes from a Jewish family from Connecticut. In addition to his parents Greg and Karen, he has two sisters, Lindsey and Emily. “It’s an interesting adventure for my son,” Greg told CT Insider when “The Bachelorette” cast was announced.
Jeremy graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Mathematics. Per his LinkedIn, he is a member of Jewish fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi and AIPAC. And, in things that are not explicitly Jewish, but are definitely Jewish-coded, he has an Airbnb in the Catskills. (Yes, the property is seriously called “Morning Wood.”)
Jeremy is joining the cast of “The Bachelorette” at a time when shows across “The Bachelor” franchise have begun featuring more vocally Jewish contestants. In the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelor,” Leslie Fhima wore her Star of David proudly and even did Hava Nagila water aerobics. She would make it to the final two. “Bachelor” contestant Ariel Frenkel gave viewers the most Jewish episode of the franchise in 2023 when she took Bachelor Zach Shallcross to a Jewish deli. In the episode, she also spoke about her parent’s experience leaving the Soviet Union because of antisemitism. Frenkel would make it to the final three. And in 2022, NJB Jason Alabaster would make it to Bachelorette Gabby Windey‘s final two, all while wearing a mezuzah necklace.
Of course, being Jewish doesn’t give Jeremy an inherent advantage with Jen. (Though I tend to agree with this tweet saying that Jews have unmatchable rizz.) But if patterns hold, we could very well see Jeremy go far this season. We’ll be tuning in, regardless.
