They tried to kill us, we survived, Adam Brody eats.
Just yesterday, UK magazine The Stylist announced everyone’s favorite TV hot rabbi as their December cover model. In the interview, Adam revealed that food is “a huge part” of Jewish culture to him, particularly latkes and bagels. “I was raised on bagels – I worked at a bagel store in high school. I like a basic cream cheese or a smoked salmon with all the fixings: capers, basil, tomatoes,” the 44-year-old actor recounted before explaining that he’s also into sweet bagels. “When I worked there, I used to have a chocolate chip bagel with strawberry cream cheese. I haven’t had it since the 90s but I bet it still holds up.”
I have to level with you, Adam. I don’t think that holds up. But I won’t hold it against you.
What does hold up, however, is the fact that Adam also revealed some of his go-to breakfast dishes are matzah brei and challah French toast. Delicious!
Though the majority of the conversation was geared towards food and the holidays, eventually it did steer towards “Nobody Wants This” and “The O.C.” “I’m overjoyed by the fact my headstone will have the names Seth and Noah on now,” Adam said, reflecting on his two most popular and very Jewish characters. “I was perfectly happy and willing and ready to accept just the former, but in getting to have two pop culture characters on the board, my hope is that I’ll be able to retain more of my own identity publicly, that I’ll not be so clearly defined as one or the other.”
The interview comes as the “Nobody Wants This” writer’s room is already working on season two, with filming beginning for Adam and co-star Kristen Bell in February 2025. Between that and this interview (and its “succulent” photo shoot), Adam Brody has given us the best Chrismukkah gift of all.
