Ben Barnes and Andrew Garfield Are Both Very Good Looking Jews

Why are we pitting these beautiful Brits against each other?

Andrew Garfield is a very good looking British Jewish actor. Ben Barnes is also a very good looking British Jewish actor. For some reason, there’s a news story circulating comparing their attractiveness, and we are not here for it.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Garfield told the story about the time he auditioned for Prince Caspian in “The Chronicles of Narnia,” but lost out to Barnes. “I remember I was so desperate. I auditioned for Prince Caspian in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ and I thought, ‘This could be it, this could be it. And that handsome, brilliant actor Ben Barnes ended up getting the role. I think it was down to me and him, and I remember I was obsessed,” he recalls.

Garfield asked his agent, “’Why not me?’ She eventually just broke under my incessant nagging and she was like, ‘It’s because they don’t think you’re handsome enough, Andrew.’”

The interview continues with Garfield complimenting Barnes: “Ben Barnes is a very handsome, talented man. So in retrospect, I’m not unhappy with the decision and I think he did a beautiful job.”

This story quickly went viral on Twitter, because, uh, have you seen Andrew Garfield? He is absolutely “handsome enough.”

(Those of us who spent time on Tumblr in the height of the Harry Potter fandom will know that Garfield is often a fancast for young Remus Lupin and Barnes is for a young Sirius Black.)

All this is to say: Like Andrew Garfield, we think Ben Barnes is very handsome and brilliant. We also think Andrew Garfield is very handsome and brilliant. There’s more than enough room for two beautiful British Jewish men to shine!
