Ben Platt Just Recorded the Catchiest Yom Kippur Song Ever

If you’ve been complaining that there are no catchy Yom Kippur songs, that’s about to change, all thanks to Ben Platt.

On Sunday evening, the Tony-winning Jewish actor posted a black and white video captioned “A short film in advance of Yom Kippur” to his Instagram stories, featuring Jewish actress Molly Gordon.

Watch it here (and we need a full-length version ASAP! 10 seconds is too short):

A Humble Request:
Hey Alma's content is free because we believe everybody deserves to be a part of our radically inclusive Jewish community. Reader donations help us do that. Will you give what you can to keep Hey Alma open to all? (It's a mitzvah, ya know.)

The lyrics are deceptively simple, about contemplating sins and not eating anything, a.k.a. Yom Kippur:

“Think about your sins, think about your sins, think about your sins, don’t eat anything.

Think about your sins, think about your sins, think about your sins, don’t eat anything.

Yom Kippur.”

It will be stuck in your head until the end of time. You’re welcome.
