Jewish ‘Golden Bachelor’ Star Leslie Fhima Is Joining ‘Bachelor in Paradise’

I personally need to see the 66-year-old fitness instructor find love in an age-gap relationship while wearing her star of David on the beach.

I think Bachelor Nation can agree that the best part of the first season of “The Golden Bachelor” — besides the “Hava Nagila” water aerobics — was contestant Leslie Fhima. The 66-year-old personal trainer from Minneapolis captured viewers’ hearts for her boundless energy, displays of Jewish pride and telling Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner “I can think whatever the fuck I want” after he harshly broke up with her.

At the time, I hoped Leslie would become the first Golden Bachelorette. That title ultimately went to fellow “Golden Bachelor” contestant Joan Vassos. But now, thankfully, Leslie will be back on the reality franchise and once again looking for love: During the season finale of Grant Ellis’ season of “The Bachelor” on Monday night, host Jesse Palmer announced that Leslie would be joining the cast of “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer!

“The beach is my thing, so I’m very excited,” Leslie told the audience on “After the Final Rose” after literally dancing onstage. “And I’m so excited to be with my old friends, make new friends and just maybe find love.”

A Humble Request:
Hey Alma's content is free because we believe everybody deserves to be a part of our radically inclusive Jewish community. Reader donations help us do that. Will you give what you can to keep Hey Alma open to all? (It's a mitzvah, ya know.)

Yes, Leslie! We want that for you!

Leslie and “Golden Bachelorette” contestant Gary Levingston will be making Bachelor Nation history as among the first Golden contestants to join “Bachelor in Paradise.” Though we currently don’t know which Golden contestants will be joining Leslie and Gary on the beach, a handful of other “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” contestants have already been cast. That includes 28-year-old creative director Jonathon Johnson and 30-year-old medical device salesman Hakeem Moulton, who both competed on Jenn Tran‘s season and were invited to “Paradise” by Jesse during the “Men Tell All” episode of their season. Plus, Zoe McGrady, the 28-year-old engineer and model who made it to the final three on the most recent season of “The Bachelor,” will also take a trip to “Paradise.”

Wait, does this mean there’s a possibility of Leslie finding love in an age-gap relationship? And will she don her star of David on TV once again? There’s no way to know until “Bachelor in Paradise” airs this summer. But I personally would pay big money to see both.
