Of Course Fran Drescher Has Friends With Benefits, She’s Fran Drescher

The iconic Jewish star of "The Nanny" recently talked to Page Six about her sex life and I don't know why we're all so surprised.

Earlier this week, Fran Drescher was in the news — not because of an upcoming project or because of her work as the fearless President of SAG-AFTRA. The 67-year-old Jewish actress and comedian best known for playing Fran Fine in “The Nanny” made headlines because of her sex life.

“I have a little rotation,” Fran told Page Six, referencing the fact that she apparently has a few friends with benefits. Five years earlier, Fran told the gossip magazine that she had just a singular friend with benefits. “I’m Fran Drescher,” she said, after the Page Six reporter gasped at the idea of an adult women having casual sex. “What do you think?”

Yeah, what she said! After the Page Six article was published, Fran’s friends with benefits were reported on by TODAY, CNN, The Daily Beast, PEOPLE, Fox News and more. Which leads me ask: Why? Is our society really so puritanical now that a celebrity having sex with her friends is news? Fran Drescher made an entire six-season network television show about how hot and fun and Jewish she is. Of course the flashy girl from Flushing has friends with benefits. Like, duh.

Instead, I think the part of the interview we should be focusing on is the long-awaited update on “The Nanny” musical. In January 2020, the New York Times reported that Drescher was teaming up with her ex-husband and “Nanny” co-creator Peter Marc Jacobson, comedian Rachel Bloom and musician Adam Schlesinger (all Jews!!) to create a Broadway show based on the TV series. Of course, since then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and Adam Schlesinger tragically passed away. Plus, SAG-AFTRA was on strike in 2023, Drescher’s father passed away in 2024 and then Drescher’s home was damaged in the 2025 Pacific Palisades fire. Needless to say, the project has been on hold. However, Fran also told Page Six that she planned to “resurrect” the musical at some point!
